Eminem is one of my favorite rappers. He has such a way with his lyrics. Even though it is ridiculously overplayed I love the rap I'm not afraid. It says: "I'm not afraid to take a stand...." These lyrics make me want to stand for what I believe. I am currently doing this as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I believe that this is the true church so I am devoting 2 years of my life, a thousand miles away from home teaching others about what I have found to be true. Am I saying that everyone has to be a mormon missionary? Absolutely not! It would be nice but all I want is for everyone to stand up for who they are and what they believe. One of my favorite slogans is "stand strong" so once you make your stance stand strong and don't back down. I believe that the world would be a much better place if everyone did this. I'm not afraid to take a stand, are you?

Intro to Lyrics
Recently, I have really gotten into poetry. I love the way you can convey exactly what you are feeling. This is one of the reasons that I love heavy metal music and rap. These artists have such a way with words so that you feel what they feel; usually rage or pain. This is evident in other genres of music but I am drawn to the emotions of Heavy Metal music. These next few blogs I will use some of my favorite songs. A couple of these are Heavy Metal or Rap to give you some examples and then I will use some lines from some of my favorite Hymns and other songs. Feel free to comment below and talk about some of your favorite lyrics that convey emotion and please edit them and keep them clean.

Are You a Disappointment?
The other night I was reading Proverbs 10 and a verse in there really hit me. It says "... a wise son maketh a glad father; but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother." Now to put that in every day terms: A good son makes their dad proud while a son who screws up lets their mother down. This hit me HARD! Earlier that day I saw a picture of my mother as she was going through radiation and I was shocked. I hadn't seen pictures and it had been about 10 months. I couldn't stop thinking of her. Earlier that evening some comments were made about how I haven't been a very good missionary and have been slacking off and they are 100% right. I thought that I had worked hard in Lander and Sidney was a place to relax. NOT SO and I apologize to the people of Sidney for this terrible assumption. It will not happen again. Elder Lunt has picked up the sword and is going out to fight hard in the name of our King and our Commander, even our Savior, Jesus Christ. I will no longer be a disappointment to the people of Sidney and especially not to my mother.
